Artistic heritage

Apart from the magnificent building of the Sociedad Bilbaina, of great architectural value and classified as a Cultural Asset, the artistic heritage that the institution has collected since its foundation in 1839 until today is extensive, diverse and especially significant.

The Sociedad Bilbaina published in 2008 the Catalog of the Artistic Heritage of the Sociedad Bilbaina. This work collects almost 300 objects with artistic value including paintings, sculptures, graphic works and pieces of furniture.

Painting is the section that stands out the most in the Bilbao club's collection, since its works include pieces by Arteta, Guiard, Losada, etc. However, the club's original “English-style” furniture is not to be underestimated and, today, you can find a carpet, a lamp and even a chess table from the time.
